Join Brushwood Center and local Waukegan coffee shop Drip & Culture, for the launch of a new partnership Drip & Culture - On the Grounds!
This partnership activates critical recommendations of Brushwood Center's new Health, Equity, and Nature Report, centering community assets and
increasing awareness and access to natural outdoor spaces. Please join us for a meet-up on June 24th, 9 AM-11 AM, for hiking, coffee, and
conversation to kick off this partnership!
Meet us on the steps of Brushwood Center for a hike, and then we will make our way inside for coffee and conversation. The discussion, facilitated by Catherine Game (Executive Director of Brushwood) and Adam Carson (Founder of Drip & Culture) will center around the new partnership and the distribution of the newly released report from Brushwood's Accelerator team: Health, Equity, and Nature: A Changing Climate in Lake County, IL. We will look at the general findings of the report, the overall recommendations around improving health equity and access to nature in our community, and what our resilient communities are already doing to create change.
The discussion will be bilingual, in both English and Spanish.
Drip & Culture
Black and Brown owned coffee shop Drip & Culture’s vision was to create something special that would allow them to transform Supermercado Gonzalez in Waukegan, Illinois. Drip & Culture is a socially minded coffee shop. Its founders believe that with intention and empathy, they can launch the types of initiatives that shape their community for the better.
